Upgrade components
Upgrade components are items that can be put into armor, weapons trinkets and gathering tools to provide an added benefit or additional effect while the equipment is being utilized. They can be purchased from vendors or players looted, or gotten as rewards, or made with crafting materials. Alongside providing bonus attributes, upgrade items can also have cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components include inscriptions, enhancements and infusions. They are not generally accessible to the general public and are only available on equipment that is ascended or on certain weapons that are not ascending from the Factions Campaign. Infusions, inscriptions, and enrichments can be recovered from equipment using an Infusion Extraction Device or salvaged with a Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool.
Phoenix Boxes unlike other upgrade items, can be traded and re-used when still attached to an item that is being upgraded. These upgrade items can be used to boost the quality of armor and weapons without the expense of Dilithium. They can double the likelihood that an item will receive a quality upgrade.
Upgrade components can be added to an item, but the previous one is destroyed (except for legendaries and ascended equipment). item upgrades can only be added to upgraded items with an identification level of zero or more. When you upgrade an existing weapon equipped with a suffix or prefix upgrade will display the name of the new item in the same way as it appears in the game (for example, adding a Radiant Insignia to Canthan Armor will cause it to be named Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). A player can have up to 3 upgrade items at once.
Glyphs

Glyphs can be a great addition to any item. They provide unique advantages and boosts. Certain glyphs can increase the number of affixes attached to an item, increasing its overall strength. These glyphs can be found through dungeons, and some even drop in certain World Tier 3 areas. It is important to keep in mind that glyphs are only available to characters who have created a dungeon that has the same level of depth.
To use a Glyph you must first create it with components and then connect them using anchors. The component will then automatically align with other components or paths within the same layer. If you don't wish to create the glyph with components, you can make use of a combination of anchors and paths. Drag an element near an element highlighted to lock it in its place.
Certain glyphs require certain requirements to be met for example, 25 Dexterity within a specific area on the Paragon Board. Certain glyphs also require a certain number of Primary Stat nodes to activate and can be a challenge to attain. Certain glyphs have a radius that increases with each level.
Glyphs can be found on many different items, and are added to all weapons, with the exception for the weapons of a particular class. Some of these glyphs have additional requirements, for example the requirement for a certain amount of damage to Dexterity or Attack damage on a specific area of the Paragon board.
The Defend Glyph adds a 5% chance to block enemy attacks. It also has an opportunity to render the Hero vulnerable for two turns.
There are also a few glyphs that can be added to tools with limited-use capabilities, such as the Black Lion Chest or Trading Post. The addition of these glyphs will be counted towards the Combat Mechanic achievement.
The most commonly used glyphs are the attack glyphs, which boost the ATK substats of Artifacts with a flat value. These glyphs are especially beneficial for classes that rely on weapons with a range, such as Warriors or Rogues. Other glyphs include the Exploit Glyph, which makes enemies who strike the Hero vulnerable to damage.
Reroll tokens
Reroll tokens are used to reroll the result of an Action. They are destroyed when the reroll happens. Reroll tokens can be gained in several ways, including through the dungeons, raids and skirmishes. They can also be purchased in the store or from other players. They are especially useful in dungeons or trials because they let players roll the rewards from the chest at the end.
Recycle points are available for items at the level 1. The upgrade gauge will increase by a certain amount of points each time you recycle an item. The value varies according to the item's level and rarity. In addition the upgraded item will not keep its level after rerolling and the cost for recycling an upgraded item goes up depending on the level of the item.
Alternatively, a player can use reroll tokens to reroll an upgrade item however, this won't return the item to its original condition or provide its original extra statistics. This is useful for players who want to reroll a piece of equipment that they don't like but want to keep in their collection.
There are three different types of upgrade tokens that are available in the game: reroll random, and upgrade. Each type comes with a couple of subtypes. For example, reroll tokens come in three different levels: rare, enhanced and legendary. Each level requires an item from the level to make the new item of that quality.
To make use of rerolling tokens you must select "Reroll Token" by right-clicking on the Satanic or Angelic items in your inventory. Then, select a kind of token. The available tokens are Item, Weapons, Misc, 1hguns, 2hguns, and Focus. The Item token can be used to create a brand new Item in any quality. A Weapon or Misc token can create a new weapon from the same faction.
There is also a possibility that the item could be upgraded to a different item that has a higher level and the same stats. This is likely to happen when the item is placed in the Pool that cannot be dropped or has been transferred to it as part of an Franchise Card.
